They had just gotten back, and it was amazing, Elkpaw had forgotten how open the sky was how green the grass was and how amazing the fresh air was. For once when he breathed in his nose was not met with the burn of chemicals, rather he smelled flowers and grass and other animals. This was their camp, their home, and no one was going to be able to take that away from him again. He wished his mother and father and siblings could be here to witness it, however he knew they were always with him. He looked over all of the cats along with his mentor Peppernose making sure everyone was okay and fairing well from the sudden exposure to the outdoors. So far this had been a dream come true.
Elkpaw walked into the medicine den, looking around curiously, this was going to be his home now, where he would care for the sick of SkyClan, Where lives could be either saved or lost. Looking around he realized Peppernose and him were going to have to do some more serious herb gathering, it seemed that was they had wasn't going to be enough. However, for now, Elkpaw just wanted to sleep somewhere that wasn't silver, curling up in a moss nest he had made for himself and closed his eyes, letting the soft breeze lull him to sleep.
When Elkpaw opened his eyes he wasn't in the medicine den anymore, in fact, he wasn't anywhere that he recognized, it was black, and he couldn't see any figures in front of him, however, he could smell something, it was a sweet smell of lavender and milk and crisp leaves and tree sap.
"Mom?...Dad?" Elkpaw said looking around with confused eyes. Out of the breeze appeared the silhouette of his parents in front of him. Elkpaw felt his eyes widened as he stared up at them, overcome with a sense of happiness and confusion he muttered out all he could muster.
"Shhh Elkpaw, there is much to be said and very little time, first since you have now returned to the skys of StarClan you can now know the truth, your brother and sister Elkpaw, Vulturepaw and Falconpaw they live, they live on and they need to be in SkyClan, their destinies require them to be in the clan. You, Elkpaw, you are the only one who can bring them back." Said his mother and father in unison, their voice seemingly coming and going in the wind. Elkpaw was in shock at the sudden information thrust upon him, his brothers and sisters whom he hadn't seen in 6 moons were alive and only he could bring them back.
"B-But how, I dont even know what they look like! I haven't seen them in so long..." Elkpaw said, his parents only smiled.
"Elkpaw, you will know them when you see them, they are your kin, as for where they are, they are past the lab, through the two-leg place there, they will be waiting for you." They said. Elkpaw shuddered, he would have to go back past the lab again, a place he thought he would never have to look at again.
"You are going to do great things, Elkpaw." Were their last words before they pressed their noses to Elkpaws, Elkpaw felt a sudden rush of energy pass through him, like his mind had just been opened up to an entire new world. His eyes rolled to the back of his head and he collapsed.
Elkpaw snapped his eyes open, taking deep breaths as he looked around him, he was back in the medicine cat den. It was now light outside. He took a moment to catch his breath before he pushed himself out of the nest. He needed to save his brother and sister, he had no choice.
Arriving in the middle of camp, he stopped and sat down. "Uh, everyone. I need to go away for a while, my brother and sister, they are alive in a two-leg place past the lab, I need to go and save them." He said, his voice calm. He glanced around at the staring cat faces. "Their destinies belong in SkyClan." He finished. Elkpaw knew to get mixed reactions, but if it was true what his parents said that meant two more full blood SkyClan warriors.
