It had been nearly a week since Coalsteps accident and the silver leader saw little to no improvement in her best friend. She did her best to talk to him, make light conversation here and there but the grief still weighed heavy on her heart. Each word she spoke to him felt forced, each glance she caste toward him, no matter how genuine she tried to make it, fell flat as soon as his gaze disappeared. The daily tasks of a leader were getting too much to handle on her own.
Appointing a new deputy would just make this nightmare even truer. It was something she didn't want to face. "ThunderClan, gather around the highrock for a clan-meeting!"
The leader bellowed, announcing the words as quick as she could, not allowing her mind to process what she was saying. Swiftly, she made her way up the rocks and to the peak of the highrock. "In light of recent events I am faced with the task of appointing a temporary deputy."
the glowing leader didn't wait for her clan to gather, rather she relied on her projection into the wind to carry her message throughout the camp. "Southskies."
The name popped into her head without a second thought. A warrior that had proven herself time and time again, Silverstar was sure it was no surprise. "I see in you what Coalstep once saw in you-- see's in you. He spoke of a brave warrior, who sacrificed herself for the benefit of the clan despite the insurmountable odds stacked against them. I can think of no other naming deserving this title, and I'm sure Coalstep wouldn't have it any other way."
The leaders golden gaze swept across the clearing, scanning the faces in search of the honored warrior.
