RiverClan

It seemed like RiverClan was the first to arrive, but Stonestar didn't doubt that others would come. He appreciated their tardiness (or his own earliness), however, because it gave the blue tom relative privacy as he clambered up to the leader's spot at Fivetrees. He flexed his claws in the branches, inhaling slowly; the last time he was here, it was as deputy. He missed Pyrestar painfully in that moment.

It passed, as moments always do, and it left the new leader of RiverClan sitting alone in the trees, wondering who would show up next.

[ Welcome to September's gathering! This thread is open to all; we aren't going to do a HP-only opening. Feel free to bring in your characters and welcome to the full moon! :^) ]

RiverClan

Cedarheart had followed Stonestar dutifully and quietly, the cinnamon tom lagging behind his leader just enough to give him space. He could see that the blue was lost in thought, pensive and wistful in a way that Cedarheart wasn't accustomed to seeing on his face. After the stress of the past moon, he couldn't blame Stonestar for needing space.

The deputy lead the way for the rest of the following RiverClan cats, with tail held high despite his own pensive demeanour. He waited but a heartbeat for the others to settle around Fourtrees as he took his place among the gap where deputies typically stood.

There was far too much to tell and not enough time to tell it. He offered Stonestar a weary but supportive glance, twitching his whiskers in hopes of earning a smile. But he said nothing, simply sitting to wait with his Clan.

Burnout was close behind. The ghostly serval was lumbering after Cedarheart, short tail flicking as he looked around in curiosity. It was his first gathering and he was pretty excited. He didn't spot any other cats other than them yet but figured they'd all roll in soon enough. That was how these things worked right?

The serval flopped down awkwardly, hoping distantly that he wasn't taking up too much space and settled in to observe. It was gonna be a long night.

Not Dead Yet

ThunderClan

Silverstar

Leader | She-Cat | 24 moons

As Silverstar stepped out of the entrance of her clan, she could feel uncertain eyes following her as she left.
It had only been a moon ago when she announce ThunderClans complete isolation from the rest of the clans and StarClan.
StarClan had ignored their medicine cats cry for help and Silverstar, being the impulsive one she was, cut ties with their warrior ancestors.
Slowly her clan was beginning to turn on each other. They challenged each others faiths and values. Silverstar was at a loss.
The more she reflected on her decision she realized how exactly her actions might affect the other clans. There were five trees now, not four. StarClan wanted them together and Silverstar had no right to deny that.
As Silverstar made her way into the Fivetrees she noticed that ThunderClan was second to arrive. Not too shabby.
The glowing silver bengal made her way toward the trees to join Stonestep? The leaders brow furrowed and she scanned the clearing for Pyrestar. He was no where to be seen.
Silverstar decided it was best not to ask. Everything would be cleared at the gathering, but how was she supposed to address him? Was he Stonestar now? Or still Stonestep? Or should she just stay silent
She decided to go with the latter and instead offered the tom a friendly smile and a respectful nod.
This gathering would be interesting

Owlpaw had gotten a head-start, it seemed. The Abyissinian glanced around, cold eyes trying to find Midnightpaw. Darkforest, she hated this place. She kept her eyes averted from the stones leading up to the Leaders areas. Good. Riverclan is here. Her nose crinkled, short fur prickling and showing off her many scars that covered her body.

Her muscular form slinked between the tree line, skurting around bushes and such as she looked for the dark coated tom who was slowly pulling her out of the hole she dug herself that just seemed to get deeper and deeper.

Grovepaw was disappointed in the leader. She changed her mind like a kit hyped up on catnip. One minute she was with him and the next she became radioactive and abandoned him. What kind of leader goes back on their word that quickly? It hadn't even been a month. The medicine cat refused to show his face at this gathering. There was no reason too. The thunderclan medicine cat was missing from the meeting.

Coalstep brought up the end of the ThunderClan patrol. As they entered the clearing, he split from the group, padding after Silverstar to the cluster of trees. He craned his head back and looked up at the tree, expecting to see Pyrestar glaring down at him from the branches. Surprise pricked at him as he spotted the deputy of RiverClan instead, although he supposed Stonestep was no longer a deputy. As irritable as Pyrestar had seemed, he'd been a noble leader.

"Greetings," he called up to the blue tom, offering a courteous nod before sitting down by the roots of the tree Silverstar would climb.

Midnightpaw wasn't planning on attending the gathering. The death of his father and sister weighed heavily on his shoulders. He'd been convinced by a clanmate to go. It was either attend the gathering, or sit around aimlessly in camp as he'd been doing for the past weeks since the dog attack. Soon his wounds would be healed and he could resume his training. Soon he could receive his warrior name and move on with his life. But it would be Stonestar giving him his name. Not his father.

The smoky black tom had settled at the edge of the clearing beside a bush, watching the other clans file in as the night pressed on. ThunderClan had come. His piercing gaze watched each member of the forest clan as they walked in, glaring at them as if somehow everything was their fault. Once they entered came another cat. A straggler? Only as Midnightpaw watched, the straggler began to take the shape of Owlpaw. Truthfully, he hadn't even thought about her. He felt guilty about it, but his mind had been occupied with more... pressing matters than the ShadowClan apprentice. He kept his gaze on her, silently willing her to look his way. To catch his gaze. To come over and sit with him. He could use some of her snarkiness right about now.

It took her longer than she'd like to admit, but Owlpaw finally spotted Midnightpaw's form in the crowd. And he was....looking at her. A tiny smile threatened to etch her scarred maw as she lingered where she was, unwilling to go any closer to the gathering area. Her gaze was filled with a softened sorrow as she took a step back, keeping his gaze. Owlpaw couldn't go any closer. For the fact that she was tied to the Darkforest and distant memories sat in the clearing. Come here. Come to me. I can't... I can't go out there. She thought so desperately, tail brushing the soft grass between her hind legs.

The ticked she-cat hurriedly took note to ensure that none of her clan mates were watching her. Fraternizing with another clan in the shadows was rather frowned upon. Not to mention Raventhorn adored gossip and questioning her.

Stonestar glanced down to Cedarheart, just catching his deputy's whisker twitch. He offered the tom a wink, trying forcibly to cheer himself up for this meeting. His ears rotated when Coalstep's voice sounded and he turned that way, nodding back. "Welcome to Fivetrees," he meowed back, remembering ThunderClan's deputy from the last Gathering. In such a short time, he had gone from the base of the tree to the top; that was terrifying and painful to remember.

do you know the line i'd walk for you?

RiverClan

hollowfrost trailed along near the back of the riverclan party, trying to hide the lingering doubts he was sure were etched plainly across his face. the deputy had avoided the past two gatherings since his return to the forest, none too eager to reunite with any of his family. it was easy to pretend they didn't exist when a river and clan borders were between them, but hollowfrost couldn't simply avoid a gathering - especially not his very first as deputy.

the deputy of warfare settled in next to cedarheart. he wrapped his tail around his paws, forced his shoulders into a straight but relaxed position - something more akin to cedarheart's posture. his co-deputy had little to worry about, beyond proving riverclan remained strong despite their latest downfalls. he was grateful their clan was first to arrive; it gave hollowfrost time to compose himself, ease the restless itch that wormed its way underneath his fur.

silverstar heralded thunderclan's arrival at the rest of the hill, literally lighting her clan's way with her luminous aura. hollowfrost felt himself catch his breath; though he wasn't sure whether it was from the wondrous glow around silverstar or the mere arrival of the clan he least wanted to see. "did i mention i have family in thunderclan?" hollowfrost leaned closer to cedarheart, the words a low murmur meant for his ears only. "and they probably have no idea i'm still alive?" green eyes flashed briefly with panic, just long enough for the other riverclan deputy to catch. hollowfrost didn't allow his dread to linger for long, stuffing the emotions back into the box whence they came. now was the time to show the other clans how well riverclan could recover in the face of adversary. his personal emotions could wait.

Cedarheart's nose wrinkled with amusement as he caught sight of his leader winking back at him. He could tell from the tense slope of Stonestar's shoulders that the blue tom was fairly stressed, but he was doing well. Leaders weren't infallible, but they had the strength of their Clans behind them. Stonestar would be fine; he just needed time to settle into the role.

It was Hollowfrost who now worried him. The black tom had sidled up beside him to sit flank-to-flank and he looked even more nervous than Stonestar did. His pupils were narrow slits and the fur along his shoulders refused to lie entirely flat. It worsened when ThunderClan broke over the crest with a shining silver tabby at the head.

His ears twitched as Hollowfrost murmured to him. Cedarheart tilted his head to face him properly, hanging on to the anxious whisper of his co-deputy. "I knew the first part, but not the second," he murmured back. He could understand the tension now, even as Hollowfrost was desperately trying to mask the emotions with some degree of composure. He managed surprisingly well; Cedarheart wouldn't have noticed his Clanmate's discomfort if he wasn't right beside him. "You're not alone, Hollowfrost. We're Clanmates; I'm here if you need me," the cinnamon tom reassured him.

Winterstar padded in, his eyes gazing around, he had yet to see Pyrestar - his hoped that the rumors he heard were not true and that the father to his niece and nephew had not passed. The tom leaped up onto the high stone and nodded towards the other leader, "Greetings."

ThunderClan

Spottedlegs swept into the hollow after her leader, not bothering to cast her clanmates with a look before slipping off towards the edges of the gathering, carefully picking her way around the crowd of strange faces. The warrior took the time to look at them as she passed, to take in their scents, and hear whatever words were loud enough to be heard. She might not enjoy the cluster of rivals but she was well aware the gathering served as a time to remember peace, but more importantly a time to gather gossip. Those good enough could weasel out more sensitive information, but she lacked such skills. Her speech was too blunt. Her mind to straightforward.

Besides that she'd been absent from the gatherings since she was an apprentice, hardly ever impressed with the lack of action in this hollow under the full moon, and had hardly spoken more than a sentence to a cat form another clan.

There'd never been a need for her to do so. Not with plenty of ThunderClanners to talk to, if she was in the mood for a conversation. Which she wasn't now. The spotted tabby was still puzzling over the reason that had brought her to the gathering for the first time in over two years, a gut feeling. A gut feeling?!

She could count the number of times she'd ever followed her gut, rather then calm, dependable logic, with one paw. And those times had been when she was young and gullible. Up until now she didn't do anything without first considering the consequences should she fail, the reward for success, a few backup plans to be sure, while doing her best to factor in any outside forces that could mess with her chances. What baffled her most wasn't that she'd had the feeling, she assumed every cat did, it was that she'd given in to the feeling. She'd come here, to the gathering.

Despite the train of her thoughts her face was expressionless, pale eyes flickering up towards the highrock. She'd come full circle around the hollow, where the leaders had already being to gather. And below she could see their deputies, or at least the RiverClans deputies. A cinnamon-covered tom was whispering something to the raven figure on his other side.

She'd not heard of RiverClans new deputies, couldn't recall their names although she didn't think she'd heard them before. Spotted wasn't one to forget such details. Curious and intent to fill in the gaps of her knowledge she circled in front of the crowd, green eyes still trained on the black tom. Until she could make out the features of his face, the brilliant shade of his eyes. It was like a swipe to the gut, how familiar he looked. Of course her brain was quick to tell her that what she thought was impossible. Her brother was dead, not a new deputy of RiverClan.

Regardless, caught off guard by the site Spottedlegs had halted, unable to hide the stunned expression on her face. peering across the empty space that separated them. The moment didn't last long.

Giving her head a hard shake she scoffed, jerking her pale eyes away. Her brother was dead and she was a fool to think otherwise!

Her first time as leader. It was so amazing really- to go from kittypet to a whole leader of a clan. She wasn't even born into the forest (although that was a common theme for most Skyclanners as they came from the lab instead). All the same though, she had never imagined this day would come. To her she would always just be some member of Skyclan that couldn't do anything right. Now though- she was leader, and she was expected to do most everything right. At least she had Ash by her side though. Hopefully together they'll make one of the best teams in all six of the clans.

Reaching the main clearing, the young leader would take a running start before rather gracefully leaping up onto the great rock. That wasn't to say she was nervous- but rather the fact she was just used to jumping onto tall rocks. She did live in the mountains after all.

"I bet you never expected to see me up here, Winterstar" Sunpath would smirk, her tail giving a small flick. She still wasn't too happy with him, as she believed it was responsible for the latest death in her first litter. All the same, perhaps now he might even be on edge a bit around her.
